London to Southend - March 2019: Ride report
Our season opening visit to Southend-on-Sea defied the weather gods and turned into a delightful ride, with a second half allowing us to enjoy some excellent Essex countryside with the wind behind us.
Titus, the ride leader, said "Southend-on-Sea is an ideal destination for our first ride of the year as it gives us a variety of route options depending on the conditions on the night.
"On this occasion, despite the forecasts, we were able to enjoy some of the quiet lanes of south Essex, before we reached our breakfast destination in the shadow of the iconic pier".
