London to Newhaven - 16 June (night ride)
This is the first leg of our 2023 tour - London to Paris and back. In true Fridays' tradition we're starting the adventure with a night ride to catch the ferry from Newhaven. As we've done in the past, the ride to Newhaven is open to all club members, regardless of whether you're going all the way to Paris.
In order to make sure the tourists are in good time for a hearty breakfast in Newhaven before catching the morning ferry, this ride will depart the South Bank at 11pm. That's an hour earlier than normal.
Our route passes through Purley and then climbs to admire the twinkling lights from atop Farthing Down before we pedal onwards to the welcoming warmth and sustenance provided by the scouts at Burstow. From there we'll be going via Turners Hill, Ardingly, Lewes, and the back roads into Newhaven, via Rodmell.
Important note.
Our half way stop at the scout hall is manned by volunteers who will be getting out of their warm beds to make sure we are fed and watered. So they are not out of pocket if people cancel at the last minute or don't show up for the ride at all, we are asking for a non-refundable pre-payment of £8. For this you will get unlimited hot drinks and a sandwich - a selection will be available - and perhaps a banana or something sweet.

Whichever option you use it is essential you include your name as it appears on your registration and the ride you are registering for (e.g. Joe Bloggs, London-Newhaven). Your registration for the ride will not be complete until payment has been received.
