London to Bognor Regis - 6 April (Thursday night ride)

Ride leader Titus says:

This is a night ride but please note we are riding on a Thursday night because Friday is a bank holiday.

Leaving South Bank at midnight, we'll set off with the call of the sea in our ears. After a traditional stop on Clapham Common (home to an omnibus and the odd MP), it's then a steady pace through the suburbs to break free from the M25 cordon and drop downhill to Dorking. We're then on rolling country lanes, listening to the night chorus to our halfway stop.

We'll stop in Arundel to admire the castle, before then heading off for our breakfast overlooking the sea. Bognor station is less than a mile away, with frequent trains. (It's also a nice bike ride home.)

Total distance is 72 miles, and no long dragging hills.

Important note. Our half way stop will be provided by people who will be getting out of their warm beds to make sure we are fed and watered. So they are not out of pocket if people cancel at the last minute or don't show up for the ride at all, we are asking for a non-refundable pre-payment of £8. For this you will get unlimited hot drinks and a sandwich - a selection will be available - and perhaps a banana or something sweet.

Please send your payment to either

THE FRIDAYS CYCLING CLUB (FNRTTC), sort code 30-98-97, account number 40385560 or via Paypal (but please do this as 'friends and family' to minimise charges) and send to fridaynightridetothecoast@gmail.com.

Whichever option you use it is essential you include your name as it appears on your registration and the ride you are registering for (e.g. Joe Bloggs, London-Southend). Your registration for the ride will not be complete until payment has been received.

Registration for this ride has now closed.
