Tour of the Roses     3-10 September

Ride leader: Nick

Normally around this time of year we'd be spending a week in France.  However, in these unusual times, we need to stay closer to home, so we've come up with a plan for a week pedalling through Yorkshire and Lancashire for a small group.

This will be a small group ride - no more than 12 people - and as usual, the pace will be steady and social with plentiful stops.   There will be some hills, especially in the latter part, and of course moments of off-road fun.

Details are to be confirmed, so don't book anything yet, but this is the plan:

Friday 3rd September.     Travel to Leeds, stay at Premier Inn.

Saturday 4th.     Leeds to Hull.  106km, flat.   Premier Inn.

Sunday 5th.      Hull to Beverley via Spurn Head.   118km, flat, Premier Inn.

Monday 6th.      Beverley to Thirsk. 100km, flat, Premier Inn.

Tuesday 7th.    Thirsk to Hawes/Hardraw.   84km, lumpy. Limited hotels in Hawes & Bainbridge or possible bunkhouse for all in Hardraw.

Wednesday 8th.    Hawes to Morecombe Bay via Ribblehead Viaduct. 64km, downhill with spikey bits. Travelodge.

Thursday 9th.     Morecombe to Gargrave via the Trough of Bowland.   80km, scenic.  Premier Inn.

Friday 10th.    Gargrave to Leeds.   55km, mainly downhill.   Home from Leeds.

We will be in touch with those who register an interest to discuss options for Hawes.
