Oxford Circuit - 11 June (night ride)

Ride leader: Titus

Just as the world is returning to normal why not sign up for this inaugural Oxford Circuit night ride of about 70 miles. Though generally mildly undulating, there are a couple of challenging climbs. But as with all Fridays' rides, no-one will be left behind.

We'll meet outside the Three Guineas pub on the concourse of Reading Station and set off at midnight, very soon crossing the Thames for the first time during the ride.

After a short sharp climb we will be heading up into the Chilterns, gently climbing for about 12 miles. When we reach the village of Nuffield we'll turn left and enjoy the exhilarating and long descent onto the Oxfordshire plains.

From here we will gently undulate through picturesque sleeping Oxfordshire stone villages until we drop down down into Oxford.  After a quick spin through the classic tourist spires we'll head south and onwards to Abingdon where we will sample the fine dining of the 24hr McDonalds.

Refreshed, we will head to Wallingford to cross the Thames once more and onwards to the escarpment. Here we will find our most challenging climb of the night, but to distract you can gaze at Rowan Atkinson’s Evil Bond Villain home knowing that once at the top it's downhill all the way back to Reading.  Once back in town we will head to the Market Square and enjoy the treats on offer at Picnic….

You missed it!  This ride is in the past.
