London to Ashford - 16 September (night ride)

Ride leader Mark

This is a ride of two halves. We start by escaping the city south via the C10 Quietway & then into the suburbs, before a few smaller lumps in the road bring us to the village of Swanley followed by a sweeping downhill to the bottom of the River Darent valley in picturesque Eynsford.

From there we have the main ‘attraction’ of the night – a long 3 mile climb up to the top of the North Downs. After some splendid descents we have one shorter climb then it’s mostly downhill for 6 miles to the halfway stop around miles 36, where the most lovely Mr Tim Decker will be providing his services to us.

The second half will find us cruising along delightful (and very flat) quiet lanes passing through sleepy historic villages before arriving in Ashford (Kent) for breakfast.

Breakfast will be in the Wetherspoons in Ashford unless I have any luck finding anywhere else over the coming months.

A midnight start from Fridays Central on the South Bank.

A ride of just under 70 miles.

Whilst this years route is not exactly the same, most of it is. Here's last year's ride report.
