Crossing The River - 6 May (night ride)

Ride Leader Nick says:

We’re barely leaving London for this one. Instead, we’ll be crossing the Thames by every step-free bridge (not the M25) between Tower Bridge and Maidenhead, passing those with steps along the way. About 30 crossings with plenty of photo opportunities.

We’ll be hugging the riverside as much as possible, through the city, across parkland and along riverside paths. It’s about 100km and there aren’t any hills, but we’ll be slowed by traffic lights and junctions, so don’t expect an early finish.

We’ve hired a church hall in Hampton for the halfway stop. There will be tea and coffee, but please bring your own food (cake to share permitted). To cover our costs, we are asking for a non-refundable pre-payment of £2.50

Please send your payment to either:

  • The Fridays bank account: Sort Code 30-98-97, Account number 40385560

  • Or via Paypal (please use the PayPal "friends and family" option to avoid charges) to fridaynightrIdetothecoast@gmail.com

Whichever you choose, you must mark your payment with your name as on your registration and the ride – eg Jo Bloggs, Crossing the River. Your registration for the ride will not be complete until payment has been received.

Breakfast is at Jenners Riverside Cafe in Maidenhead. Parking on site for those being ferried home. There are trains back to Paddington. Free travel on TfL services with a Freedom Pass

This ride will start from Potters Fields on Tooley Street. There’s a pub (Two Bridges) opposite and, supposedly, toilets in the park.

Ride report coming soon!
