Suffolk Ferry - 6 August (day ride)

Distance approx 100km, elevation ~1000m.
This ride takes in three of the Suffolk ferries in a loop heading from Ipswich, down to Shotley, across to Shotley - Harwich, Harwich - Felixstowe, Bawdsey, Butley and Orford and back to Ipswich.
There is some off-road, including sandy track, nothing very technical but you need to be able to lift your bike up and down steps. The exact number of ferries is dependent on the weather forecast; last year we cycled down to Old Felixstowe via the Stratton Hall causeway.
It’s an early start from Ipswich station, around 8am, and back about 6pm. Cafe stops at Old Felixstowe and Orford. Optional stop in Woodbridge.
The group will be a maximum of six riders as the Butley Ferry can only take two bikes at a time because it’s a rowing boat!
Pace will be comfortable, max 14mph, slower on the off road bits.
